this, I see no indication that people confusedly think you can't use GNOME's
apps without the GNOME DE itself. People seem to happily

For KDE software it happend *so many times* over the course of the years:

  - "App XXX is cool but I don't want to install KDE"
  - "I don't need KDE, so I won't use App YYY"

This was the first, real reason the rebranding was agreed upon.
And for example in openSUSE we have people that use KDE applications with
totally different setups (e.g. XFCE).

This, and all the changes in Document.qml are unrelated.

Doesn't specify much about what a "convergent" application is (unless it's
specified elsewhere). Perhaps "Builds a Kirigami-based, convergent version of
Okular"?

[okular] [Bug 393119] New: No way to disable okularkirigami building

2018-04-13 Thread Luca Beltrame
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393119

Bug ID: 393119
Summary: No way to disable okularkirigami building
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-devel@kde.org
  Reporter: lbeltr...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

The mobile version of Okular is built unconditionally, even on desktop systems.
While its impact is arguably smaller, it would make sense to have a build
switch (even default to ON) to enable/disable building.

--- Comment #4 from Luca Beltrame lbeltr...@kde.org ---
Just FYI, the Unstable:Extra repository is *not* meant to hold released
applications, they're git snapshots and should be treated as such. I've
improved the wording on our repository page
(https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_repositories#KF5.2C_Plasma_5_and_KF5-based_Applications_Unstable).

@Albert: I suppose you (extended to everyone working on Okular) does not want
yet BRs against the KF5 port? If so, I'll ensure this is known.
