I have posted a link to a how to create personal annotations in okular.
Unfortunaltely okular annonations are neither displayed in other PDF viewer nor
are they printed. This makes this feature currently quite useless.

Another use case is inserting a scanned signature as an image to sign forms. As
I've reported in related bugs the annotations should be also rescalable so that
the barcodes, signatures or whatever can be correctly placed.

I would find creating stamp based on usual image formats also very useful.
Aside from the PDF Form Barcode specification for adding a barcode into a PDF
form using JavaScript I have from time to time the need to a barcode into a pdf
file. This would easily done if I could create a stamp based on an image.
