We tested 006 --> 014 pre-release of 014.  008 --> 014 should be equally
workable.

It has been a good box.

But I should have upgraded it sooner than I did.

Always a risk when you wait too long between versions.

thanks!!

Follow the upgrade directions on the wiki for 014 (involves a
publisher change AND a package policy change) and you should be in
good shape.

Should be little difference between 018 and 014 with respect to a jump
from 018. For both, make sure you've changed the OmniOS publisher
policy to require signatures. It should all be on the upgrade pages.

You are using binaries and utilities made for Solaris 10 on OmniOS. There is no
guarantee of compatibility, as these are two very different OSes that have
grown apart over the years. It is possible that, while your binaries do execute
on OmniOS, your hpacucli is looking for and trying to use a facility that has
since changed or disappeared.

PLEASE do not use Oracle Solaris drivers on OmniOS. There are likely to be
subtle incompatibilities.

If you cannot see your controller under the OmniOS LTS media, please see if the
more recent OmniOS Stable or OmniOS Bloody release see it. If they do, a
backport of the driver may be possible (esp. to a paying customer).

Sorry,
Dan

I don't think these are drivers-- they sound like admin utilities,
though I'm not too familiar with HP hardware. I would first check
that the illumos cpqary3 driver is attaching to the hardware:

# grep cpqary3 /etc/path_to_inst

If this shows nothing, then for some reason the driver did not attach.
The kernel log might have some messages related to that.

Can you install pkg:/system/pciutils and post the output of
`/usr/sbin/lspci -nn` for this machine? The PCI ID for the HBA would
need to be one of the IDs that cpqary3 knows about, which are listed
in /etc/driver_aliases.
