In Italy, Serie A Soccer has their 24th game day today.  Whereas many other

Napoli, and Juventus are far out and ahead in the standings, with Napoli leading
Juventus by one point. Rounding out the top five are threeteams, separated by
two points, but far behind the  leaders. They are Lazio, Inter Milan, andRoma.

In the Olympics today, men compete for gold medals in thebiathlon (10km
sprint), speedskating (5000m) and cross-country skiing(skiathlon).

Team USA's Lowell Bailey is a challenger in the 10km sprint, anevent dominated
by Norway in previous Olympics. Incidentally, if the trivia master asks you
which country has the recordfor greatest number of medals in Winter Olympics,
that answer would beNorway.  They took home the Biathlon Goldin Sochi.
Today the men's luge singles finals will also becontested in Korea.    Medals
are on the line in speedskating (men's5000m), biathlon (men's 10km sprint) and
men's skiathlon. The Dutch arefavorites again in the 5000m, having swept the
podium in 2014.

Sven Kramer is hoping to repeat past successes this year.  Readers of this
space will be familiar withSven Kramer.  Despite the Norwegian firstname, he
competes for Holland.    He is a Dutch long track speed skater who haswon an
all-time record nine World All-round Championships as well as a recordnine
European All-round Championships. He was the Olympic champion of the 5000meters
in Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 and won a record 19 gold medals at theWorld
Single Distance Championships; eight in the 5000 meters, five in the10,000
meters, and six in the team pursuit. Kramer is the current world recordholder
in the team pursuit (alongside Jan Blokhuijsen and Koen Verweij), andbroke the
world records in the 5000 m and 10,000 m three times.

By winning the2010 World All-round Championship, Kramer became the first speed
skater inhistory to win four consecutive world all-round championships, and
eightconsecutive international all-round championships. He has been undefeated
inthe 18 international all-round championships he participated in since
the2006/2007 season. From November 2007 to March 2009 he was ranked first in
theAdelskalender, but despite his dominance as an all-round skater has since
beensecond on that list to Shani Davis by 0.15 to 0.3 points (seconds on the
500m).  He will again be a joy to watch inthese Olympic Games.

The figure skating  team event isnew in these Olympic Games and have provided
many enjoyable hours of viewing sofar.  They consist of couples dancing
andmen's and ladies' free skates, and the progression through the
entirecompetition have included elimination.   Gold is up for grabs among the
fifteenremaining teams in tonight's competition.
