This mailing list is intended for communication between the Open MPI development community and our downstream packagers.
Periodically, it is useful for us to be able to ask questions of our packagers -- e.g., about specific platforms, compilers, environments, ...etc. Similarly, our packagers may periodically have questions or requests for us. Hence, this dedicated mailing list will serve all of those needs (we assume that it is too much to ask our packagers to monitor our regular users/developers mailing lists -- they can be somewhat high volume).
