Re: [onap-discuss] CII bestpractices login issue

2018-03-13 Thread Wheeler, David A
Hi, I’m sorry you’re having trouble! My sincere apologies. I will try to get
this addressed, but I’ll need some information to help me track down and fix
the problem.

First – I believe this is the correct account page, correct?:
  https://bestpractices.coreinfrastructure.org/en/users/2077

I cannot find the corresponding logs that indicate a problem. Can you give me
the exact date/time where you had the problem? Or try to reproduce it, and
then tell me the exact date/time? I need more information so that I can
reproduce and then fix it.

> And also when I try to sign up a new account for CII, I cannot get the
> account confirmation email.

That one I can explain. You’ve used your GitHub account to log in, and told us
the email address. The system doesn’t let you create a “local” account with
the exact same email address. Internally this causes a “Validation failed:
Email has already been taken” message. Basically, accounts are of two
*different* kinds: (1) GitHub-based (and you have to talk with GitHub to deal
with authentication issues) or (2) local accounts.

We just had some weird problem from a recent change that should be unrelated,
but perhaps it’s related. If you can’t repeat the problem, then that probably
*was* the problem and hopefully it will not happen gain.

Thank you for your time!!

[onap-discuss] Developer Activities at the beginning of the 2018 Open Source Networking Summit

2018-03-13 Thread Phil Robb
Hello LFN Community Members:

*Given that ONS this year is the first opportunity to get many developers
from our key open source networking projects together, I’d like to map out
what we have planned and invite you to participate in what will surely be a
very productive event with many opportunities for collaborating on a myriad
of technical topics. On Saturday and Sunday (3/24, and 3/25) there is an
Infrastructure and CI/CD workshop held by members of OPNFV, OpenDaylight,
OpenStack, ONAP, FD.io and other communities. This is a small gathering of
key stakeholders responsible for CI/CD efforts across those projects. This
event is at full registration and is not accepting any additional attendees
at this time. On Sunday (3/25), Monday (3/26) afternoon, and Tuesday (3/27)
morning, the OpenDaylight project is holding their Florine Release
Developer Design Forum (DDF). Topics for the ODL DDF have been collected
on this wiki page
.
The agenda for the DDF is being created by members of the ODL TSC and the
sessions will be posted to the ONS Schedule.
The
format of the ODL DDF is generally: - Sunday - Deep technical topics only
relevant to OpenDaylight Developers- Cross Campus 800 Wilshire Blvd Los
Angeles, CA 90017 Walking directions -
Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning - Follow-on topics from the Sunday
sessions, plus new sessions that are relevant to either other LFN projects,
other downstream open source projects, or end users. Please keep an eye on
the above wiki page and agenda to track topics that are of interest to
you.Monday morning, the LFN communities will come together for a series of
joint sessions with topics affecting several if not all of the projects in
LFN. Topic areas for this portion of the Developer Forum include: - Cross
Project Testing, Integration, CI/CD, documentation tooling, etc.- Open
Standards and LFN Open Source Projects including MEF, IETF, ETSI, and
others.- Container Networking- Virtual Network Functions (VNF) Onboarding,
Lifecycle Management, Testing, etc.- Network Operating Systems (NOSs)- AI &
ML work that is starting to take shapeThe Call for Topics for this portion
of the event is over, but if you’d like to see what was submitted for
consideration, please take a look here
.
The accepted sessions have been published on the ONS website and can be
found here
.
If you have a topic that you strongly feel belongs in this section but it’s
not represented, please contact me at pr...@linuxfoundation.org
Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning there are
technical breakout sessions focused on ONAP, OPNFV, and OpenDaylight (as I
mentioned above). Sessions in these breakouts will be focused on the
current technical discussions occurring within each of those communities.
Within these sessions, we are also encouraging topics that may be of
interest to one or more of the other LFN projects. An example of this would
be ONAP’s use of OpenDaylight and any potential requests those communities
may have of each other regarding future development and/or testing. In
addition, FD.io is having a Mini Summit during the same time frame. The
Call-For-Topics for these project-focused events are located at the links
below. Please review these proposals at your earliest opportunity to see
the topics for discussion during this unprecedented event.OpenDaylight
OPNFV
FD.io
ONAP
Finally,
Tuesday morning from 8:00am to 9:00am PDT will be the first Linux
Foundation Networking (LFN) project Technical Advisory Council (TAC) face
to face meeting. The TAC is a new governance body formed at the creation
of the LFN umbrella project and they are tasked with aiding in the
coordination and cross-collaboration of the open source networking projects
within LFN. In this meeting the TAC will provide an overview of topics and
decisions since LFN was launched as well as lead a session meant to uncover
and highlight the most important cross-project initiatives that should be
started/continued, funded and tracked as part of our collective 2018 Goals
and Objectives. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have
questions or comments on this event. I look forward to seeing everyone in
Los Angeles in two weeks!*
Phil.

[onap-discuss] How to use the internal login, instead of external login in Portal SDK

2018-03-13 Thread abdelmuhaimen.seaudi
Hi,

I am working on an application based on ONAP Portal SDK, that follow the
tutorial
http://onap.readthedocs.io/en/amsterdam/submodules/portal.git/docs/tutorials/portal-sdk/creating.html.

The application is onboarded in the ONAP Portal, and runs inside a tab inside
the ONAP Portal.

However, the app is using the external login, which means it does not detect
that a user is currently logged in the portal with an active session, and it
forwards me to the SDK demo/demo login screen that shows the old ECOMP Logo.

What do I need to change in my demo app, so that it uses the Portal internal
login or Single Sign On feature of the portal ?

I am using the RestrictedBaseController class for my demo app.

Thanks.

[onap-discuss] OON ONAP SDNC in Kubernetes

2018-03-13 Thread abdelmuhaimen.seaudi
Hi,

I am running an Amsterdam instance running on OOM Kubernetes 64 GB VM.

I tried adding another VM to the Cluster, and Rancher now sees 2 nodes.

I scaled SDNC to 2, and Rancher deployed the 2nd replica on the 2nd node.

I deleted the 2nd node from Openstack, and Rancher detected that the node was
disconnected.

However kubernetes still show the 2nd node is still running, and that the 2nd
SDNC replica pod is running on 2nd node.

I waited to see if there's a timeout until K8S detects and redeploys the pod,
without success.

Is this the correct way to perform scaling for ONAP components under K8S ?

Is multi-node installation supported by OOM ONAP on K8S ?

Thanks.

Hi all,

I am running Amsterdam release and I noticed the there are some errors in the

used by the installer are non-existent in Nexus repo... Any hint on this? Did
Nexus folder structure change recently?

Re: [onap-discuss] How to use the internal login, instead of external login in Portal SDK

2018-03-13 Thread TALASILA, MANOOP (MANOOP)
Hi Abdelmuhaimen,

Thanks for using the Portal SDK. The steps you followed are correct, however
the external login is provided for developer to test their app locally (without
having the entire Portal). But, when the app is ready and onboarded to the
Portal, please use the welcome.htm url in the onboarding step –
“http://your_app_host:port/epsdk-app-os/welcome.htm”. This should let you use
the Portal’s single sign on.

Onboarding steps for your reference -

Subject: [onap-discuss] How to use the internal login, instead of external
login in Portal SDK

Thanks.

Re: [onap-discuss] Light installation

2018-03-13 Thread Roger Maitland
Hi Santiago,

Yes. When deploying ONAP via OOM you’ll clone several scripts including
‘setenv.bash’
which contains the following environment variable:
HELM_APPS=('consul' 'msb' 'mso' 'message-router' 'sdnc' 'vid' 'robot' 'portal'
'policy' 'appc' 'aai' 'sdc' 'dcaegen2' 'log' 'cli' 'multicloud' 'clamp'
'vnfsdk' 'uui' 'aaf' 'vfc' 'esr')

Just edit this list to include the component you consider part of the ‘light
version’ and when you deploy ONAP you’ll get just the subset you’re interested
in. Keep in mind that there are dependencies between the components (for
example many components require message-router) that need to be satisfied.

Cheers,
Roger
P.S. The OOM team is working towards making this even easier, stay tuned…

Hi all,
sorry if this is not the best forum to make this question but I deeply searched
in the wiki and I didn't find a better option.
Is there a way to install/deploy an ONAP reduced resources or light version?

I'm trying to install the platform in my company local environment but i don't
have the hughe amount of resources required by the full installation, and the
component by component installation is not always well documented or uses
references to not existing/deprecated code.
I saw that Beijing release will have a "light" version but I don't know if it's
available to test.
Thanks,

Re: [onap-discuss] Light installation

2018-03-13 Thread Michael O'Brien
Santiago,
Just to add to Roger’s mail – there is a JIRA on enumerating various subsets
of ONAP – I recently triaged one around policy/portal combination that is
listed there for example. Functionality is limited to what is deployed (for
example the following has no SO component so is useful only from a policy
developer perspective – not for orchestrating VNFs)
HELM_APPS=('message-router' 'vid' 'portal' 'policy' 'aai' 'sdc' )

A second set of examples is specific to the use case you would like to run -
for example the vFW does not need the following (vVolte and vCPE do) – so vfc,
vnfsdk, aaf and multicloud are optional for the vFW.
Also if you are running Beijing (for now) you can also remove dcaegen2.

We should have a complete list of all the subtrees of valid ONAP deployments
from each root to the whole system.
Each set will need to be verified for deploy-time dependencies and runtime
dependencies.

follow
https://jira.onap.org/browse/OOM-511

thank you
/michael

[onap-discuss] Some thoughts about ONAP Microservice Architecture for Casablanca and beyond: Service Mesh, Centralized Authentication and unified API standards

2018-03-13 Thread zhao.huabing
Hi all,

I'd like to share some of my thoughts about ONAP Microservice Architecture for
Casablanca and beyond

1. Service Mesh

Service Mesh is the next generation of Microservice approach, which can bring
lots of benefits to ONAP and its users at both the development and operation
sides. Such as

the separation of business logic and Microservice infrastructure(communication,
security, metrics etc)

allowing free choice of development tech stack

flexible route rules to enable traffic steering and canary release

monitoring and tracing visibility

fault injection for resiliency testing, etc

We should take service mesh into consideration. There are multiple choices on
the table right now, given its tight relationship with kubernetes which is used
for ONAP deployment, I suggest we give Istio a shot in Casablanca. MSB project
is investigating the possibility of integration of Istio and ONAP right now.

2. Centralized Authentication

ONAP is a huge system consisting of many services. Currently, different
services such as AAI, SDC, Policy etc. have their own authentication process,
which makes ONAP difficult to use and adds burden to the individual project to
enforce the cross-project authentication logic. We need to consider
implementing some kind of centralized authentication, which means user login
once and can access all the services. We also need to consider how to secure
the access of 3-party systems by using API token or OAuth.

3. Unified API standard

Most of the projects produce RESTFul APIs for consuming, but in a
none-consistent way. we need to define some unified standards/best practices on
the REST API definition across the ONAP projects such as versioning, url, error
code. There is a draft in the wiki page:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/RESTful+API+Design+Specification
