In this position you will serve as interface between the programmers and management. You will be responsible for maintaining the database and ongoing management and support of related applications. You must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment and possess prior work experience in a software development environment. As the Database Administrator you will work with application development staff and management to develop database architectures, coding standards and quality assurance policies and procedures. *Duties and Responsibilities* · Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases. · Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time and implement efficiency improvements. · Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems. · Develop, implement and maintain change control, and establish testing processes for modifications to the databases. · Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing database. · Perform database transaction and security audits. · Establish appropriate business user database access control levels. · Create, or support creation of, required reports in response to business user needs. · Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures. *Skill Matrix: * *Skills* *Yrs of exp* *Rate yourselves on a scale of 1-5 is desired (1=weak, 3= average, 5=expert) * *Required Qualifications: * * * * * Possess a B.S. Computer Science Engineering or related degree. * * Prior work experience designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers. Experience with database structures and a strong understanding of theories, principles and practices. * * More than 5 years work experience with Oracle, MySQL or DB2 enterprise systems. Hands on database tuning and troubleshooting experience. * * More than 3 years work experience with SOA. * * *Desired Qualifications: * * * Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards and products. Prior work experience with Java Enterprise Edition applications. Knowledge of data warehousing technologies and techniques. Experience with complex distributed computing environments. Prior work experience with Message Queue, SQL Database and JBoss web servers. Working knowledge and experience on AS/400 and DB2, SQL Server experience is a plus.
