Bob, we'd need a minimal piece of code which reproduces the issue.
Failing that, a stacktrace at the point of failure might also help.

You might want to perform the directory test first. Done this way, the code

I have an always-running program which stays up for months on ooRexx 4.2
but on ooRexx 5 build 11858 (and earlier builds) it fails with a segfault every
few days.
