Hi there, the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) has a project called PDFBox, which creates a Java archive for creating and processing PDF files. Using BSF4ooRexx it becomes possible to take advantage of that library from (oo)Rexx.
A student, Cristina Dobrea, experimented with that library and PDF files and finished her Bachelor Thesis together with ooRexx nutshell examples for creating/processing PDF files. Just point your browser to <http://wi.wu.ac.at/rgf/diplomarbeiten/#bakk_201211> and get her Thesis (and the nutshell examples) which gives an interesting overview of the PDF structure and exploits it later in her nutshell examples to demonstrate how one can take advantage of PDFBox for that purpose. It should allow anyone who reads it to learn about PDF and every (oo)Rexx programmer should become able to take advantage of her work.
