We are getting contradictory information on this: are Copy Notes searchable
via a keyword search in the catalog? Our tests seem to indicate that they are...

confirming that it wasn't in any notes or bib entries for a specific org

No, copy notes aren't searchable in the catalog. Words need to be in the
MARC record to be searchable.
If you want to send a link with an example where copy notes seem to be
searchable, we could look at it to see why it is coming up in your results.

Hi Kathy,
This was reported to me by one of our libraries who had a positive hit when
doing a Keyword Search for Local Author. I did a little digging and there was
Local Author in the 500...so my excitement was short-lived.
