Up until now we have only dealt with libraries that had established catalogs.
I now have a very small library that only has a card catalog and their books
are not barcoded.
Where do I start? I know the new librarian has started with weeding and that
is always my first suggested step.
Do we
Libraries in our consortium (Virginia Evergreen Libraries) wanted me to ask if
you guys are using the FAST/searchFAST Subject Headings?
Our libraries were saying that it creates a lot of duplication and thought it
was messy, BUT what harm or damage would it cause in the future to take them
I have been asked to ask ya’ll about screen readers and Evergreen.
1. What screen reader do you use? Have you been successful with it and
Evergreen?
2. What browser do you use with the screen reader?
3. If you have a successful preferred screen reader, what is the estimated cost?
Thanks
Here in Virginia we have Boopsie mobile app, BUT for our libraries that have
Evergreen I have Boopsie just link them straight to the URL. Normally Boopsie
requires that you FTP a file to them from your catalog or they can link
straight to the URL of your catalog. They don’t like to link
I'm running an overdue report (from reports menu) and its giving me all of the
barcodes that a patron may have. I only want their primary barcode. I thought
I had it when I said active = true, but I still get duplicates - maybe because
the system seems they all as active but one is marked as
Virginia Evergreen Libraries
Includes
Portsmouth Public Library
Cumberland County Public Library
Wythe-Grayson Regional Library
Galax-Carroll Regional Library
Heritage Public Library
Eastern Shore Public Library
Essex Public Library
Middlesex County Public Library
Hosted by Lyrasis
I believe that this is an area that I can assist with - can't help with any of
the others :) yet.

Has anyone out there had a problem with importing Baker Taylor records –
tweaks you had to make to the system etc. I seem to have a couple of libraries
that are importing records that are creating duplicates (but I’m not sure of
all the check/non checks they have on/off at the moment).
I have a library that has Bibliotecha self-checkout and when a patron uses the
machine to renew a library card - non resident fee $20.00 - it goes into Misc
(instead of Non-Resident fee like it would if they went to a desk where a human
would click the drop down box). When it goes into Misc it
Sounds good to me and I think either a location in Virginia or North Carolina
would be good.

I have some questions from a public library that is considering Evergreen. We
are currently on 2.2 but will be upgrading to 2.3 before this particular
library joins.
1. Does the acquisitions module allow for budget tracking?
2. How well will Evergreen work with thinks we might
