I have made change in the receipt template as suggested by you.
%DATE_FORMAT(%due_date%, %d/%m/%Y)%
In the preview of the template it gives the date only as output while in
the printed receipt both date and time is not displayed.
When %due_date% alone is given, in the preview
The DATE_FORMAT macro only works when you hand it a non-formatted
date. Shelf expire time is an example (and is the reason DATE_FORMAT
exists, I couldn't get agreement on the output for shelf expire time
so I didn't format it and provided the format macro instead).

A couple of things to try.
Make sure you have clicked Save Locally after changing the receipt template.
Make sure that the receipt you have configured matches where you are printing
from in the client.

The checkout receipt goes with the Done button on the Checkout

You need to wrap some formatting around date variable to do this. Here’s one
way:
%DATE_FORMAT(%due_date%, %d/%m/%Y)%

When printing the due date in the check out slip it prints both date and
time. The %due_date% tag is given, the output displayed in the printed
receipt contains both date and time. How to avoid time being displayed in
the receipt printout.
