Beth, Thanks! We are looking into all options and this helps a great deal.

Hi Jennifer, I have a thought that *may* be of some help. When you create a serial subscription, you also need to create a 'distribution.' One option that you set in a distribution is the "Summary Method." [Inline image 1] This setting indicates how you want your holdings to display in the catalog. If you choose "Use record entry only" (e.g. serial record entry) you are telling the system that you want to display the holdings from your MFHD record. So, I suppose you could run into problems if you choose this option but do not have a MFHD for the title. This is just a guess, though. I haven't tried to test this yet. As I mentioned, I have never seen that error before. Beth On Tue, Mar 7, 2017 at 1:38 PM, Walz, Jennifer <jlw...@asbury.edu<mailto:jlw...@asbury.edu>> wrote: Beth, Thanks for this info! No one else replied and I was getting worried that we had discovered the most hidden error message ever! I will look into the serials records and whether they have MFHD records. I assume those are required? (I am not a serials person, so I have no idea.) My root question still stands – for those that might be willing to submit an answer - How can these “sre maps” be built? Did we miss a process somewhere? Thanks! Hi Jennifer, I have never seen that specific error message, but I think that 'sre' is referring to serial record entry. In Evergreen, serial record entry refers to the MFHD (MARC Format for Holdings Data) records. Do your serial titles have MFHD records? But what does it mean? An error message regarding “build sre maps” pops up when trying to check in serials. What are those and how can we build them and why are we seeing that message? Thanks!
