Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Inventory

2018-02-28 Thread Aubrey Area Library
PINES instructions are exactly how we inventory our collection. We managed
to inventory 20K+ items in 2 days while open with only 2 staff members
working it.

Thanks,

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Inventory

2018-02-28 Thread Rogan Hamby
HI Marcia,

There are a few ways to do it. Unfortunately Evergreen doesn't have the
functionality baked in to make it really streamlined. I know that
Evergreen Indiana did a presentation a few years back and I think the PDF
of that is on the community wiki. I wrote up a process I did with SC that
should be floating around (I'll look in a bit) and I've had feedback from
some others that used it that it worked well for them. We've floated the
idea of baking in additional features for inventory several times over the
year but were never able to get the partners together to make it happen. I
continue to cross my fingers that we do at some point.

We are looking to do an inventory of our collection this year. Does anyone have
any step-by-step documentation for this? From start to finish. We are on 2.10.5.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Evergreen 3.1 - Timeline Tweaks

2018-02-28 Thread Daniel Wells
Hello all,

This is a final reminder that the normal cutoff for new features in 3.1 is
by end-of-day today. Once again, here are the bugs in play:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bugs?field.status%
3Alist=NEW%3Alist=CONFIRMED%
3Alist=TRIAGED%3Alist=INPROGRESS
status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITH_RESPONSE%3Alist=
INCOMPLETE_WITHOUT_RESPONSE%3Alist=
WISHLIST%3Alist=83887=pullrequest_
combinator=ANY=Search=id=0

I know that a number of those bugs are well in progress, so I expect we'll
get through a number of them. Thank you for all the testing and tweaking
efforts so far!

What happens next? I do not plan to cut the beta until later on Friday, so
we will have a day or so buffer to wrap things up and apply final
adjustments. Please continue to push normally through the end of the day
today. For tomorrow and Friday, small stragglers may still be allowed, but
please run them by me first, as at that point I will reserve the right to
hold out anything which seems likely to destabilize the release.

I will have limited availability this morning, but will be glued to the
keyboard for most of the afternoon through evening to help test and to
answer questions.

Keep up the good work!

Sincerely,
Dan

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Docs hacking days

2018-02-28 Thread Joe K

Good day everyone,

Earlier this month, the Documentation Interest Group decided that it would
be useful to call for a couple of documentation hack days in March and
April, one focused on cleaning up the web client docs and the other to work
on 3.1.

Admittedly, I am sending this out a bit later than is ideal, though I
thought it worth trying to go forward all the same.

If you are willing and able to participate, please fill out the polls below:

Web client docs cleanup hack day:

3.1 docs hack day:
