[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Pre-Cataloged Items

2014-05-01 Thread Kate Butler
If an item is added as a pre-catalogued item and then circulated, what happens to the record of that circulation (for reporting purposes) if the item is deleted upon return rather than turned into a real item? Kate Butler Technology Librarian Rodgers Memorial Library (Hudson, NH)

Kate, the circulation record still exists, but how it gets used (or not) depends on how you construct your reports. -- Jason

I think Jason's right. Our pre-cat circs weren't being counted until someone pointed out that I had been filtering on IsDeleted equals no. (It's necessary for so many of our reports that it's become a habit.) Once I removed that filter, we were fine. Good luck, Lise On Thu, May 1, 2014 at

Also, once (if) you attach a pre-cat to a real bib, the circ follows the pre-cat into catalog-ed-ness, and sticks with the real item forever. On Thu, May 1, 2014 at 2:58 PM, Jason Etheridge ja...@esilibrary.com wrote: Kate, the circulation record still exists, but how it gets used (or not)
