Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Retrieving no results using Bib Call Number search (Mike Rylander)
Hello, Can you please share how to configure the staff client and reindex in Evergreen. We are using the Dewey Decimal Classification system and call number is added to the 082 field, and 'a' subfield. indicator 1 and indicator 2 are entered as 0 0. I have set Server Administration-Marc/ Search Facet Fields and edited the entry corresponding to bibcn and restarted the server. Is there any other steps to be followed for getting the results using Bib Call Number Search. Is there any steps to be followed for reindexing ? Thanking You -- Jayaraj J R Library Information Assistant IISER Thiruvananthapuram http://www.iisertvm.ac.in

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Retrieving no results using Bib Call Number search
Hi Jayaraj, The Bib Call Number search is searching the MARC record (082 field, if I'm not mistaken) for a dewey call number, so that search is entirely dependent on your catalogers adding that field for each of your items' bib records. Does that help? Or 050 for an Library of Congress Classification scheme. I don't know that Evergreen also indexes the 084 if you use classification scheme other than Dewey or LCC. Or even if it indexes 055, 060, etc. Elaine J. Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Retrieving no results using Bib Call Number search
Our library uses the 090 in the bibliographic record to display Bib Call Number search. Chris is correct in that the index is linked to a field within the bibliographic record, not at the volume level. I believe you need to configure your system with which field you wish to display. 050 may be the default. Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Retrieving no results using Bib Call Number search
Just for clarification, Evergreen can index any field that's needed for the bib call number search. It's a matter of configuration (available directly in the staff client) and a reindex if fields are added.
