Hi Mike,

Thank you for the reply.  We are using:

Linux 2.6.29.1 #1 SMP Sat Apr 11 20:03:55 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 
GNU/Linux

though unfortunately unable to upgrade to 2.6.32 at the moment.  CentOS 5.5 has 
only just hit QA testing and I guess will be a while longer before we see it 
hit the mirrors for general consumption.

From a previous thread I posted it would appear we are hitting a issue in the 
current kernel module, mkfs.ext4 hanging with 100% CPU spin, and was thinking 
we could download the newest semistable and use that.  It certainly appears to 
compile fine against our current kernel.
