I tried to execute an unnamed query (using the 0.9.7 release) and got
the following
ArgumentException: Could not locate metadata for the class using alias
"User".
All named queries on that same entity work fine.
All mapping is specified externally (orm.xml; no Annotations). The

I've been trying to play around with the code you provided on this issue.
Unlike the 5mins quick start examples provided for the OpenJPA download, the
build.xml wasn't a straightforward
root for creating an Eclipse project. So, I did that by some manual
importing.

I'd really appreciate it if a committer could take a look at this
patch fairly soon and provide feedback or apply it. I don't think
geronimo can deploy persistence units in wars without it or its
equivalent.

I must admit I'm quite illiterate when it comes to Eclipse --ditched it
a long time ago in favor of Idea. You must be right about the build.xml
being a not-so-straightforward root for Eclipse import, it didn't occur

working together on a good code base with a growing, diverse group of
