*Job Position:- **Business/Functional Analyst*

Duration: 6 Months to 1 Year

*JOB DESCRIPTION:*



The Business/Functional Analyst works with the business teams for VA Choice
program to elicit and clarify business cases, needs, and processes through
workshop facilitation, interviews, and business modeling methodologies.
Also identify and come up with innovative ideas to improve the overall
scheduling process. The candidate provides all aspects of Business
Analysis, problem discovery, solution design, and translates business needs
into technology solutions. Assembles the information learned during the BPM
stages into process architecture and hierarchies, systems, governance,
business rules, and procedures. Works closely with Technical Requirements
Analysts to communicate business requirements to the development teams and
ensures that business requirements are met during implementation.



*KEY REQUIREMENT:*

·         A thorough understanding of VA’s Choice program.

·         Experience of working with other Scheduling systems, determining
eligibility and integration with EMR is a definite plus.

·         Understanding of VBMS and (or) DMHS systems and associated
processes is beneficial.



*QUALIFIED CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED:*

·         Bachelors Degree in information systems, business, or related
discipline required with 7+ years work experience with Software Development
projects

·         Previous experience in business process re-engineering or
business process improvement

·         Act as a liaison between the application user community and the
application software developer

·         A proven ability to implement and sustain sound
processes/practices/deliverables based on high-level goals and direction.

·         Demonstrated experience developing efficient and effective
solutions to diverse and complex business problems.

·         Ability to think strategically and conceptually, and transform
ideas into practical implementation at a detailed level

·         Understanding of Agile Software Development Methodology

·         Familiarity with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), quality
standards, and best practices

·         Actively participate in quality assurance, including test case
design, and hands-on system and user testing of the software developed

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and
verbal) a must



*DESIRED SKILLS:*

·         Experience with VA Preferred

·         Previous experience with VA Claims Processing, VBMS and DMHS
systems

·         Proven Experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM)

·         Understanding of modeling notation such as BPMN or UML

·         Development of use cases based on user requirements

·         Able to proactively conduct interviews with all project
stakeholders to elicit functional requirements, modeling those requirements
in an organized manner, then managing and communicating those requirements
throughout the project life cycle.

·         VA (Veteran Affairs) choice program and understanding patient
scheduling authorization verification
