Ericsson RAN Engineer - Santa Ana, CA 5 Months Job Description: Reporting to SDDI Design Manager, Engineer is responsible for design and intergration of the Ericsson RAN networks within T-Mobile Network related to the Western Region Area. Applied telecom experience and organizational skills to manage UMTS RAN network tasks and projects, are crucial. Excellent communication skills are essential due to the daily interaction with permanate engineers including reports, RCA's and knowledge transfer. Minimum Required Skills / Competencies: Ericsson RAN Engineer ? Extensive knowledge of RAN Network Signaling protocol (Iub, Iucs, RANAP, RNSAP and Iur) ? Moderate knowledge of Core Network SS7 signaling protocol (MAP, ISUP, GCP, RANAP) ? Should be familiar with HSDPA and HSUPA parameters and functionality. ? Good troubleshooting experience on RNC parameters. ? Good knowledge of Site integration and Trouble shooting of problems. ? Good Knowledge of OSS applications such as WRAN Explorer, Moshell and EMAS. ? Participate in the New/Expansion projects. ? Integration support: Health check of new Integrated Sites and new RNCs. ? Providing technical support for integrating any new services/projects. ? Providing technical support for other departments for any technical issues related to Ericsson nodes as Engineering, Performance, Quality. ? Providing technical support for inter-working problems with other vendors. ? Following up the upgrades for all RAN nodes, and performing network general tests after implementation in the pilot node. ? Preparation of contingency plans for special occasions, and emergency situations. ? Working with performance group for enhancing the network performance as Changing Radio Parameters. ? Serve as interface to product and technical managers regarding product issues, i.e. capacity requirements, product upgrades, etc. Optional: ? Should be familiar with Support Nodes such as RSP, Tellabs DCS and Spatial MGW. ? Coordinate with O&M staff and Other O&M Groups in the district for the resolution of any Access related problems. ?
