*The Role:*

·         The Bloomberg Enterprise Data Warehouse team has an exciting
opportunity for an experienced Data Warehouse software engineer.

·         The candidate is expected to be able to handle end-to-end DW,
Data Integration and BI solutions by taking into consideration the business
cases, objectives and requirements.

·         The technical domain of the position includes all aspects of the
solution including data integration, data architecture, information
delivery, infrastructure, testing, performance tuning for all components of
the project.



*Qualifications:*

·         Strong understanding of ETL tools (5+ years ETL required),
including Informatica

·         Very Large Database and DW Implementation experience (20+ TBs)

·         Programming in a Linux/Unix environment, including shell scripting

·         Demonstrated experience and ability to work with business users
to gather requirements and manage scope

·         Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver results quickly in
a fast-paced environment on multiple projects

·         Proven ability to effectively manage their time and a desire to
deliver results quickly and correctly

·         Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills with a Logical
and pragmatic attitude

·         Team player with strong oral and interpersonal skills



*Nice to Have:*

· Programming in Java, C++, Python
· Hadoop stack/MapReduce and other Hadoop-related open-source tools
· HBase/NoSQL or similar technologies
· Very Large Database and DW Implementation experience (20+ TBs)
· BI Tools such as Qlikview and Cognos
· Data Modeling skills including ERWin/ERStudio
· GreenPlum and/or Oracle database experience



*Recommended:*

· Ability to promote growth and knowledge of other team members
· Implementation skills including estimation, planning, gap analysis, and
risk analysis
· Understanding of backup, archive, restore and purge strategies and
disaster recovery strategies in very large database environments.
· Experience with the monitoring and fine-tuning of large data warehouse
implementations using various DW performance improvement options (virtual
and materialized views; additional indexes; segmentation and partitioning
of the various fact tables; caching, etc.).
