‪Unified Communications Engineer - Microsoft Skype for Business & Lync



The Unified Communications (UC Engineer) position supports the organization
as integral member of the Skype Product Team. This team is tasked with the
responsibilities of product support throughout all levels of the business,
product life cycle management, go-to-market strategy and new product
introduction/rollout (NPI).



The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide in-depth
support, analysis, architecture development, and education throughout all
levels of the enterprise. The position will require frequent contact and
partnership with internal technical teams, along with the Microsoft teams
to discuss support and requirements associated with new product or project
launches.


*Responsibilities:*

·         Provides third level support. Diagnoses and fixes the most
complex system problems. Troubleshoots difficult operational problems and
assists technologists who are less experienced.

   - Escalates problems to external vendor as necessary, ensuring prompt
   and accurate resolution.

·         Participates in developing the architecture for individual
projects related to communication and collaboration systems. Uses
frameworks developed by enterprise architecture and ensures that business
solutions support enterprise architecture strategies.

   - Performs pre and post-installation verification.
   - Fulfills administrative tasks within the O365 portal.
   - Develops and continually improves procedures, standards and methods
   for team members and other colleagues.

·         Evaluates the operational characteristics and usage trends of
installed systems and software by utilizing available tools to monitor and
manage reliability, availability and performance. Works with those that
support client applications to identify and resolve issues to maintain
operating efficiency and work quality.


*Qualifications: *

   - 3 – 5 years of experience in Unified Communications as an engineer
   - Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support
   or service
   - Demonstrated experience as a technical lead.

·         Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Skype for
Business and Microsoft Lync 2013 at a global enterprise scale.

·         Extensive knowledge of Microsoft vNext design and implementation.

·         Extensive knowledge of network design and configuration.

·         Solid knowledge and understanding of infrastructure architecture
principles and frameworks.
