Role - Networking QA engineer Location - Bay area Start immediate *Note - 2 rounds of interview - Phone and then in person.. so local candidates preferred* * * *********WE DO NOT WANT SENIOR LEVEL CANDIDATES FOR THIS POSITION……******** Job Description: The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong proficiency in testing one or more of the following areas 1.Interfaces - Ethernet,ATM,Sonet,xDSL,Ch T1/E1,ISDN BRI/PRI 2. CoS, QoS, Policing, Traffic Shaping, Queuing 3. Layer 2 and Layer 1 protocols or other tunneling mechanisms - PPP, L2TP, GRE, IPsec. 4. Layer 3 Security services - FW/NAT, VPN, Policy 5. Routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, multicast, MPLS, RSVP) 6. Experience in performing platform qualification tests on new products - systems, interfaces and FRUs.Experience with security devices is highly desirable. Required skills Automation TCL or perl and an ability to run/debug automation test suites is required. Working knowledge of UNIX is madatory Desired skills Proficiency in a programming language, such as C or C++ for in house tools development, is desirable. Experience in various test methodologies white box, black box, solution testing is desirable. Experience using 3rd party test equipment such as Agilent Router Testers, Spirent Smart Bits, IXIA is a plus. Education/Certifications M.S. in Computer Networking 3-5 years of experience in Telecommunications or related fields as a test engineer for networking and IP services related products or a BS in CS/EE with 5-7 years of experience.
