The candidate must have a sound understanding of data processing techniques, as well as the tools used to access data and to produce reports. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to partner with customers inside and outside of the department to understand their needs and assist them in utilizing available tools and data. The ideal candidate will possess both strong technical skills and an understanding of mortgage lending and credit risk data. Key responsibilities will include the following: 6 month consult to hire Base SAS programmer Need a resource to take ownership of existing SAS programs/job Need to know SAS Macros Need to know SAS SQL Queries SAS program results get surfaced in Enterprise Guide, so familiarity with SAS EG is needed Need to understand DB2 and dimensional data models Background in mortgage lending, credit risk data preferred *Job Requirements:* Primary Skill Set and Job Description 5+ years of solid application development experience 5+ years’ experience designing and developing highly efficient SAS code for use in automated data processing systems on UNIX based platforms. 5+ years’ experience with SQL in a relational database environment Excellent oral and written communication skills Must be able make contributions to the group’s knowledge base by proposing new and valuable ways for approaching problems and projects The Customer requires a senior Base SAS programmer. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, withhands-on, proven experience with SAS programming to maintain and develop advanced SAS coding techniques to write maximum efficient and performance optimized code. Services may include focus on and require the Consultant to: 1.Apply and demonstrate expertise with efficient DATA step, SQL programming, SAS Macro programming. 2.Implementing advanced SAS coding techniques to optimize performance and have developed best practices for efficient coding due to constraints of hardware storage and memory. 3.Must have project experience with sophisticated Base SAS development for performance enhancement and advanced SAS Dataset storage best practices. 4.Project experience with moving and maintaining data and code from different development environments (development to test to production). 5.Have good oral and written communication skills. 6.Lead and/or actively participate in SAS knowledge-sharing activities. 7.Must be able to read, and understand existing coding and processing to troubleshoot and resolved issues as they arise. 8.Demonstrate the ability to work with little direct supervision; Excellent troubleshooting skills; Imaginative, inquisitive, with a self-motivating personality and a strong work ethic; Customer focused demeanor.
