Title: Sr Oracle developer- Must have Banking or Financials exp posted on 2014-05-05 14:22:22 Job Description:Sr Oracle developer- Must have Banking or Financials exp Farmington Hills, MI Must Interview in person *Application Developer with Oracle PL/SQL expertise *to join in *Farmington Hills, MI*. *SUMMARY STATEMENT * This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to help ongoing expansion of its application portfolio from client/server platforms to the Web, and to gain exposure to a variety of technologies across each platform, including our enterprise data warehouse. The ideal candidate will provide and/or facilitate the analysis, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications across these multiple platforms. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Provides technical expertise necessary to meet project and business requirements as well as production and maintenance in support of assigned project/application areas. Works with other Application Development team members to estimate, plan and schedule tasks to meet assigned target dates. Participates in the requirements gathering phase, design and preparation of specifications for new projects and/or existing systems. Develops, tests, and supports new or revised systems. Executes test plans that encompass unit testing and analysis of test results. Documents new and existing systems, develops workflows, and creates other supporting documents in adherence to all departmental and corporate standards. Provides a clear record of activities taken on specific program or system projects. Obtains approvals and consults with production control as needed to prepare programs/systems for implementation; corresponds with clients to implement operations programs/enhancements and identify/resolve problems. Communicates both orally and in writing with team members and others regarding status of work, program changes and specifications, project schedules, or other areas of mutual concern. Reviews completed code, documentation and other deliverables to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements based on defined expectations. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in computer related field preferred. A minimum of 3 years experience working in an Oracle database environment. Strong Oracle PL/SQL skills. Demonstrates experience and knowledge of data structure and database concepts and practices, with ability to monitor and tune performance. Ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities. Demonstrates experience in one or more systems development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including those that support agile / iterative development. Demonstrates knowledge of project/system management methodologies. Clear and effective writer and documenter. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written skills; ability to communicate with individuals at all levels. Ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization. Functions effectively in a team oriented atmosphere. Insurance or financial services industry experience is a plus.
