California bay area- location rate is around $40/hr This position is for a Software Engineer on the Data Delivery team within the Enterprise Data Service organization. This team is specifically responsible for providing IT development for production-quality data acquisition, cleansing and distribution with technologies such as Sybase ASE, Perl and XML.
Job description/ Key responsibilities: Work with project managers, technical leads,- business owners and analysts through the whole SDLC, understanding and refining systems requirements, designing and writing code, clearly documenting the development process. Implement Perl feeds to analyze, consume, cleanse and- distribute market vendor data Working closely with the Support team to- ensure code, documentation, monitoring, etc. are fit for a production environment. Essential skills/background: Successful candidates will have: • Min. BA/BS in Computer Science or related field. • Proven track record of Perl development. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with attention to detail and thoroughness. • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with both the technical team and business users. • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, assume greater responsibilities over time and work in a team-environment. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including multiple projects at any one time. • Fast learner with a strong attention to detail.
