We are looking for Java/J2EE TECH LEAD at the FEP/CareFirst in Washington D.C. It's an 9 month contact with a probable extension. Please see the job description below. All candidates **MUST** be currently in the D.C. area. No exceptions. And please ensure they have not already been submitted to FEP/CareFirst. Tasks: Perform full life-cycle activities in support of Claims Enhancement projects which will include: 1. Work with enterprise architect to provide system architecture design documentation 2. Drive the detail technical design 3. Assistant project and development managers to define the scope and develop plan for the project deliverables 4. Lead the development team to execute the development plan 5. Accountable for specific development tasks 6. Accountable for meeting the milestones set for the project 7. Conduct code review, unit testing and integration testing 8. Document system design, development and Unit testing, and transfer maintenance work to FEP internal staff Skills - Java/J2EE technical leader: This position requires a BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience, and more than 8 years professional software development experience in object-oriented language, including minimum of 6 years experience with Java and J2EE. Specific requirements include, but not limited to: . Proven strong technical and project leadership . Experience with software development best practices (RUP, XP, Agile) . Strong hands on experience with UML . Strong background on multi-platform system integrations . Excellent object oriented analysis and design patterns/techniques with emphasis on Java/J2EE technology . Extensive hands on experience with Java, J2EE, EJB, JSP, JDBC, Hibernate, JMX, JMS, Log4J, AJAX, JSF. . Wide breadth of knowledge across many Java Open-Source technologies including Ant, Struts, Spring, XML parser technology, SOA based infrastructure, JUnit and HTTPUnit . Excellent application performance tuning skills . Experience with RDBMS (DB2, Oracle or MS SQL) . Knowledge with TIBCO a plus Software: 1. WebSphere 2. DB2 3. Microsoft Suite Languages: 1.
