maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting telecommunications 
equipment/failures, 
including, but not limited to DSU/CSUs, network sniffers, switches,  and 
associated 
cabling and power elements, in data center environments; 

· Ability to test and certify data circuits, such as 
analog, 
digital, inside wiring (Cat-6, Cat-6A & Fiber) (Sub-rate DS0, DS0, DS1, DS3, 
OC3, BRI, PRI and SONET); 

· Ability to work with various Telco & ISP Broadband 
carriers, 
NOC, and/or test centers to perform routine testing of data circuits and ISP 
services; 

· Ability to coordinate support from Internet Service 
Providers 
to diagnose and correct circuit issues; 

· Strong background in IP networking concepts and their 
application to Microsoft based networking configuration ability to install, 
maintain, configure and troubleshoot telecommunications lines, circuit 
equipment, 
including but not limited to DSU/CSUs, switches, routers, multiplexers 
(including 
SONET) and associated cabling and power elements, in both data center and 
remote 
(user) site environments; 

· Possess the ability to install, configure and test 
Switching 
in a WAN/LAN environment Infrastructure Copper/Fiber support, including LAN 
hardware (router, switch), cabling (CAT6), network interface cards and 
topologies 
(Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet); 

· Must have working knowledge of voice over IP to support 
implementation with various switches (EG: Cisco, Avaya).

 

DESIREABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Review and evaluate agency network architecture to create an assessment as 
required.
• Provide migration strategies and direction to migrate or consolidate network 
infrastructure.
• Provide expert technical guidance for complex and difficult 
switching/routing/optical 
network architectures in order to facilitate and expedite migrations.
• Interface with other DoITT teams to ensure that network changes flow 
efficiently
• Design and code router/switch configurations as required
