*Job Description:*

Client is seeking a skilled Data Architect to contribute to the design,
management, and implementation of its enterprise data warehousing
solutions.  The candidate will focus on the architecture and deployment of
our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Point-Of-Sale (POS) standard data
model.



*Responsibilities:*

Design technical solutions that are scalable, aligned with the enterprise
architecture and can adapt to changes in business.

Collaborate with application, solution, and technical architects to
understand the implications of respective architectures to maximize the
value of information across the organization.

Perform a variety of in-depth data analysis, data modeling, and data
administration tasks on complicated datasets with potentially complex data
integration scenarios with limited supervision.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to project team members

Produce technical documentation and diagrams based on industry best
practices and standards.

Contribute to efforts with DBAs, analysts, and application specialists and
other key stakeholders to optimize system performance, security,
maintenance and reliability.

Provide technical stewardship for the data in the data warehouse and how it
is to be used in downstream reporting applications

Assist in the coordination and validation of work performed by external
contract resources

Research and evaluate emerging technologies for applicability and adoption



*Qualifications*

8+ years of Enterprise-level experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse
development, analysis, configuration, and deployment

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or similar

Proven knowledge and experience implementing BI/Data Warehouse solutions

Thorough understanding of data modeling and experience in modeling
techniques.

Expert knowledge of SQL, tuning, and data extraction, load, and
transformation methodologies.

Oracle database development and design experience (10/11g)

Experience modeling out of an ERP System, Oracle EBS (11i) preferred

Understanding of enterprise data integration best practices, and features
such as master data management, entity resolution, data quality assessment,
metadata management.

Experience working with Transactional Data, Analytical Data, and Data
Governance/Administration.

Working knowledge of ETL and Data integration techniques. Informatica Power
Center Preferred.

Prior Exposure to MicroStrategy, SalesForce and Qlikview are a plus

Experience with Sales and/or Marketing Analytics

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to adapt to fast paced and rapidly changing environment

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

*Experience, Knowledge and Skills:*

• A minimum of 8-10 years of database and data modelling experience and
formal software development processes.

• Expert in SQL and SQL query development.

• Data modelling related to conceptual, logical, and physical model design.

• Strong problem solving, debugging, DB performance tuning, analytical
skills, and support experience

• Good interpersonal skills to effectively interface with business
customers and team members

• Experience with Oracle RDMS is preferred.

• Experience with modelling tools, Power Designer would be a plus

• Data analysis/profiling and reverse engineering of data, and databases.

• Familiar with XML schema design a plus.

• Data warehouse environments such as partitioning, conditional, cubes,
dimension and fact definitions as well other de-normalization techniques a
plus

• Knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages

• Working knowledge and understanding of transactional and information
systems, data warehouse architecture, data marts, MDM methodologies and
life cycles as well as ETL processes. Informatica PowerCenter knowledge
would be a plus.

• Agile SDLC experience would be a plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment both locally and with
other geographical locations.

• Positive attitude, Independent problem solver and fast learner. Ability
to work with minimal formal direction.
