Please find the requirement below and let me know your interest.. *POSITION* *Java Big Data Developer* *Eagan, MN (LOCALS)* *7 month contract* *Phone and F2F* The Enterprise Content Platform (ECP) project is looking for a senior-level software engineer for the Ingest engineering team. ECP is a strategic project to the Technology Platforms division aimed at bringing together the different sources of data that Thomson Reuters owns into a central Big Data system. ECP’s Hadoop-based Big Data cluster will allow Thomson Reuters to gain new insights into our data and to package the data in innovative ways for our customers. The ECP Ingest team is responsible for building reusable software components and workflows that collect data from various other systems and centralize a copy of it into ECP systems. ECP is important to Thomson Reuters since it will reduce costs of data processing and enable new products. Our platform is mainly composed of Java and Scala modules running in a company-owned Hadoop cluster using the open-source CDAP (Cask Data Application Platform) system. Additionally Apache’s Spark, HBase, Hive, Kafka, ZooKeeper, and Oozie all are technologies we use. A qualified engineer for this role will have significant experience implementing Big Data systems using many of the above technologies. It’s expected that a candidate will bring knowledge of industry best-practices to share with other members of the ~6 person development team.
