Oracle DBA Pasadena, CA (Local preferred) Long term contract Exp: 12+ Job Description: Individual will be responsible for architecture, deployment and maintenance while supporting database solutions for large scale Oracle databases in an effort to meet front, middle and back office application requirements within a fixed income environment. This consists of design, administration and production tasks including database architecture, tuning, monitoring, and backups and resolving production issues. Ability to support Sybase database applications and related systems. Responsibilities/Duties: · Architect Scalable and High Availability Solutions for large databases with heavy transaction and batch activities. · Build and Maintain Oracle Real Application Clusters · Support production - mission critical systems and maintain application functionality · Perform Oracle and Sybase administration - dumps & loads, user account maintenance, device management, manage tables, constraints and indexes · Maintain existing environment, perform upgrades and resolve technical problems · Direct support of development group and activities while working with application development groups on designing the database architecture to meet application needs. Help the application team with SQL Tuning · Daily server maintenance and monitoring; database health checks · Capacity and Scalability Planning and Database physical design · Setup Database monitoring and maintenance and integrate with enterprise management infrastructure · Evaluate tools and new product releases. Researching the new features and engineering · Will design, architect databases in support of development initiatives · Support related Sybase databases Competencies: · Senior technical expert level knowledge of Oracle with minimum of 5-8 years experience with designing, deploying, administering and supporting Oracle Databases within fixed income and/or related financial services firm · Recent hands-on experience with 11G and 12c databases · Good knowledge of PL/SQL and SQL tuning. · Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience of deploying and supporting Real Application Cluster (RAC). · Minimum of 4 years experience with data replication technologies (golden gate, Sybase replication) · Minimum of 3 years experience with UNIX shell scripting and/or Perl Scripting. · Experience on architecting and implementing high availability solutions. · Good interpersonal and communication skills · Superior troubleshooting skills · Exposure to other RDBMS systems such as Sybase and SQL Server · Sybase or SQL Server migration to Oracle · Understanding Oracle Grid Control Concepts, and experience with grid configuration and administration · Senior technical expert level knowledge of Sybase and Sybase databases - processes, data, management of devices, backup and recovery · Working knowledge of Solaris/Unix operating system, commands, utilities, file systems, basic scripting Academic Qualifications (minimum requirements): § Undergraduate degree in related discipline (e.g., information technology, engineering, database technologies, etc.). § Oracle certifications § Unix SA knowledge § Sybase certifications -- Thanks & regards, *Rohit Gupta* *VBeyond Corporation* Office : (908) 988-0329 EXT: 222 Mail : roh...@vbeyond.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Open Source Erp & Crm" group.
