The QA Analyst will review user requirements and use cases to prepare and
execute test plans, scripts, and cases for the Executive Office of Health
and Human Services Integrated Eligibility and Referral application, an
online application on the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Virtual Gateway
that helps individuals applying for coverage and benefits by reviewing
their details for determination and eligibility for subsidy and public
benefit programs, including health insurance and health assistance
programs, nutritional assistance, and community services
The incumbent must be skilled in testing web-based applications, to execute
robust system and user acceptance testing against an evolving multi-tier
application environment that requires modern technologies, technical
practices and substantial collaboration with a variety of stakeholders. The
incumbent must be prepared to assist with business case development and
planning, requirements organization and tracking, translating user
requirements to actionable test scenarios and cases.
The applicant will be responsible for testing the IE&R system, as well as
other supporting applications for eligibility and referral, including the
My Workspace and My Account Page, Common Intake, Screening & Consumer Home
Page, as the Integrated Eligibility system evolves through implementation
of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA),
*Daily Duties / Responsibilities: *The primary area of responsibility in
this position is to test new and existing software both functionally and
via an automated testing tool; position requires an experienced Quality
Assurance Analyst to develop, create, modify, and execute test cases. The
QA Analyst will also assist in the use of automated testing tools to ensure
the logic supporting the development efforts meet specified performance
outcomes and service level metrics, compliance with Section 508 and
Americans With Disabilities Act,
The QA Analyst will analyze business requirements and use cases in order to
create test plans, then create both automated test scripts as well as
manual test plans to verify software development against the application
requirements. Test cases will focus on the verification of both the user
interface as well as the database.
The QA Analyst will help ensure the highest quality of our product before
it reaches our customers.
The QA Analyst will be responsible for creating and executing system test
plans for application development efforts according to defined application
requirements. The QA Analyst finds and tracks software defects, coordinates
re-testing with the project team and documents the conditions and results
of testing.
Subject matter expertise Quality Assurance
Translating the work of business analysts and subject matter experts into
to ensure well defined requirements contribute to defined functional use
cases, allowing for development of robust and reliable test cases based on
input (requirements and use cases) for deployment during standard testing
phases.
Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills to help with root cause
analysis during application verification and defect review.
Expert knowledge of all testing methodologies (white vs. black box test
work, system vs. functional), with a solid understanding of quality
assurance as part of the development process. Well-versed in software
process and software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies,
particularly the Unified Process Development Methodology with focus on
requirements and test management components.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal
skills, all necessary to interact effectively with project managers,
software developers, business analysts and contributing staff members
interagency. Strong, demonstrated ability to work independently as well as
in project teams, providing relevant quality assurance services to a broad
audience. Highly analytic and able to independently analyze test results
and be confident making decisions and recommendations
BA/BS in Computer Sciences/Engineering or associated discipline, or 6 years
or more of work history in a Quality Assurance role, preferably in the
human services, healthcare, pharmaceutical or insurance industry.
Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) and with
standard tools used for regression testing and compliance certification
including IBM/Rational testing products (ClearQuest, ClearCase, Test
Manager), as automation tools such as Selenium and QuickTest Pro, and ADA
Compliance tools (JAWS, Policy Tester, and Deque Worldspace).
