9 or more years professional experience

7+ years of extensive Cognos, SQL Server 2005, Oracle RDBMS

This should include deep report development using Cognos tools, DataStage
interfaces,

Additionally Oracle tools, scripts, database links, XML tools.  Cognos
technologies will be heavily used with industry standard frameworks

Extensive  experience in AS400, Oracle a plus and other data transfer
mechanisms

Cognos Senior Developer will play a key role in the development and
implementation of various Information Delivery initiatives at FEP.

Minimum Requirements -

This person will have at least 5 years hands-on experience in developing and
implementing solutions based on the Cognos suite of products. The experience
must include at least a minimum of 1 year on Cognos 8 Business Intelligence
platform



S/he will proficiency in the following Cognos specific skills

   - · Ability to create complex Framework Manager Models including
   Relational as well as Dimensional Model Relational based on specified
   requirements.
   - · Understand the inner workings of Framework Manager macros and
   functions that cater to supporting stored procedures as well as LDAP
   security
   - · Ability to create complex reports using Report Studio
   including the usage of Java script to accomplish certain functionality
   - · Ability to generate Transformer Models (including Custom
   Views) using Cognos Transformer and ability to generate the resulting cubes
   using Transformer for UNIX.
   - · In-depth knowledge of all studios (Report Studio, Query
   Studio, Analysis Studio, Event Studio and Metric Studio) and Cognos SDK
   - · Understand the working of Cognos security in order to
   accomplish access  and authorization requirements in the solution under
   development

S/he will also meet the following requirements

   - · Proficient in SQL and interpreting complex queries (both
   Cognos as well as the generated native SQL)
   - · Basic understanding on business intelligence and data
   warehousing concept
   - · Ability to transform business requirements into reports,
   dashboard and other BI components
   - · Ability to support a solution released to Production
   - · Understand and appropriate usage of various modeling concepts
   including STAR, SNOW-FLAKE, 3NF etc
   - · Basic web development
   - · Experience in developing custom solutions
   - · Experience with DB2
