*Role: Unified Computing Engineer / Dallas, TX / 6+ Months Contract* *Brief Description:* The Sr. Unified Computing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), Cisco Nexus 5000 and 1000v switches and the EMC VMAX and VNX storage solutions. The candidate must have solid experience with convergence, network scale and virtualization-awareness within the data center network. Working knowledge to design and implement network topologies and architecture, routing protocols, traffic design and network virtualization.Unified fabric architecture with security, high-availability and network virtualization.Thorough working knowledge and execution of Cisco UCS convergence, network scale, and virtualization awareness. Complete knowledge and implementation experience that combines design and implementation knowledge of unified fabric architecture with security, high-availability and network virtualization on both Hyper-V and VMware platforms. *Position Requirements:* 5+ years of experience with Cisco UCS. 5+ years of experience with both Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualization platforms, Hyper-V preferred. Solid experience with PCI 3.0 level 1 requirements. 5+ years of experience with Nexus 1000v. Experience deploying storage solutions using multiple different storage protocols such as Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and FCOE. Enterprise Storage Arrays, including; EMC VMAX and VNX, and Isilon, Solid understanding of Microsoft System Center. Advanced network troubleshooting and experience in resolving complex network problems, using various tools and systems. Experience with WhatsUp Gold, Riverbed, Steelhead and Steelhead Central. Ability to apply granular security rights to UCS, based on the principle of least privilege. Experience with designing and deploying network solutions for virtualized environments using one or more of the following network vendors: Cisco, Brocade, Force 10, and Palo Alto. Ability to script or program with one or more of the following applications: Windows PowerShell, VBScript, CMD, and SQL. Expert working knowledge of IPv6. Ability to demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills. *Education / Training Requirements:* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
