SAP TESTING DEFECT MANAGER

 

Location - Plano, TX.

Experience Level - 8+ Years.

Start Date - Immediate

Duration - 6+  Months

Rate - ALAP

 

Role:

The Testing Defect Manager oversees the execution of the Defect and Change
Management processes for project releases.  This position interacts with
multiple people at various levels of the organization on a daily basis.  The
incumbent must ensure compliance with defined processes, provide regular
communications on status of defects, and deliver training/coaching to team
members as needed.  This role requires a self-starter who can manage
multiple priorities effectively and thrive in a distributed/remote work
environment.

 

.     Own and Manage HP Quality Center and Borland Star Team setup for
defect management 

.     Drive Defect Management workflow in adherence with project processes

.     Facilitate communication between project teams as needed

.     Manage the electronic mailbox daily

.     Drive transport migration process for standard/emergency migration
windows and ensure proper migration approvals are in place for the following
types of migrations

.     Compile and distribute the Daily Defect Metrics and Lead Defect
Meetings 

.     Manage the closure of defect/defect documentation in the appropriate
tools

.     Partner with various Teams to improve process, tools and reporting for
Defect Management

 

Background:

B.A. or B.S., ideally with an emphasis in Information Technology or Computer
Science
3 - 5 years related experience at a major corporation or equivalent
experience at a consulting firm
Extensive knowledge of Cross-Functional, Integration and/or Regression
Testing Methodologies. 
SAP configuration, development, implementation or support knowledge is very
helpful

Project Management experience also helpful

Strong understanding of Software Defect Life Cycle and/or ITIL Service
Support processes, particularly as implemented at PepsiCo 

Strong written and verbal communication skills in addition to good
facilitation / presentation skills
Strong Microsoft Excel skills a must

Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of levels across the
organization.
