warehouse solutions in SQL Server 2005*

· *extensive T-SQL development skills*

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the development of data warehouse and
application solutions to support the reporting and process automation
initiatives within the Tax Department, along with the ongoing monitoring,
support, and maintenance of previously implemented solutions.

Current responsibilities include extensive *hands-on coding in a MS SQL
Server 2005 environment, management and design of heavy business
logicwithin a T-SQL framework,
* moderate database design work, and user interface design involving Microsoft
Office tools to support the data workflow, data validation, and current
reporting structure. The position will work for and directly interface with
personnel within the Tax Department, and will also interact with other
departments within Finance, members of the IT organization, and outside
software vendors. Our data warehouse initiative is in its beginning stages,
so *future responsibilities will include designing a department-wide data
warehouse model*, migrating current data structures into a *true ETL model
using T-SQL and SSIS, implementing solid workflow with notifications, and
various reporting solutions within a Microsoft Office and Analysis Services
OLAP environment*. The position will also be responsible for helping to
choose and implement an enterprise reporting engine (such as Business
Objects or Cognos) and design reporting and calculation solutions based on
that choice.

The role of the Tax Process & Data Management group is to advance the use of
technology within the Tax Department to drive process efficiency
improvements and to improve the availability, accuracy, and security of the
data used by the department. A primary focus is placed on managing the
large, data-intensive processes within Tax, such as the reporting of fixed
asset detail, billing records, General Ledger information, and other
processes involving large volumes of data and highly complex business logic.
Because of its unique blend of technology expertise and extensive experience
with Tax and Accounting processes and data, this group is able to respond
rapidly with effective solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of
the business
processes within the Tax Department. Our data warehouse initiative is unique
and advanced in that its users are actively a part of the entire workflow
process (including the final data produced) and that the data produced in
the warehouse interacts directly with and influences the data within the
source systems.

This position will require a thorough knowledge of database concepts and SQL
coding, including database structure design, creation of tables and views,
management of table relationships and data integrity, complex queries and
stored procedures, large-scale data update processes, and numerous other
advanced database programming concepts. A strong knowledge of data
warehousing design and concepts is necessary, including ETL design, star and
snowflake schemas, OLAP modeling, and report design and deployment. The
position will also be involved in designing effective warehouse workflow
user interface components to facilitate maintenance of data and reporting.
The successful candidate will be able to apply this knowledge, along with
the ability to quickly gain an understanding of complex business processes,
in order to create innovative technology solutions.

Qualifications:
The candidate should have a Bachelor's or higher degree, preferably with a
major in Information Technology, or equivalent certification or experience.

Additionally, extensive experience is required in designing and building SQL
database and warehouse systems in a MS SQL Server 2005 environment including
all concepts listed above. Experience with reporting engines and complex
reporting calculations is also required. *Training or experience in
Accounting or Finance and/or experience with financial systems, particularly
fixed assets, billing, and general ledger systems, is strongly desired as
well.* Experience with programming within a Microsoft Office
environment(Access, Visual Basic for Application, VB Script, Excel
templates and
formulas, and Visual Basic.NET <http://basic.net/>) is also preferred.
Experience working directly with business users to gain an understanding of
business processes and scoping business requirements for process automation
initiatives is a plus.

Other important attributes for this position are strong data management and
validation skills and other analytical skills. The candidate should be
highly motivated, work independently, produce a thorough and precise work
product, and be able to deliver on commitments

Thanks & Regards,
