The team member must understand Structured and Functional Programming
techniques and be comfortable in large scale Scala/Java development
environments.
This is a Software Engineering position with a domain expertise in
distributed systems.



*Must have the following:*

Using Git and Gerrit distributed source code control.  Must understand, at
minimum, the difference between git pull and git fetch

Software Development experience in Scala or Java 8, Scala preferred.

Comfortable developing with a maven tool chain

Proficient with Linux, MacOSX and at least one virtualization technology

Functional Programming fundamentals

HTTP based API development

Basic SQL development

Basic NoSQL development

HTTP fundamentals

Key Deliverables

Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for
mission-critical systems,

delivering high-availability and performance.

Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.

Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.

Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and
technologies and presenting

these for architectural review.

Skills Required:

Looking for Spark/Scala resources.

Proven hands-on Software Development experience

Proven working experience in Java development

Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE
platforms

Experience in Scala/Spark

Strong analytical background

Object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.

Profound insight of Java and JEE internals

Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies
(JPA2, Hibernate)

Experience in the Spring Framework

Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web
framework (JSF,

Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC)

Experience with test-driven development

Desired Skills

Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming, data structures and
design patterns

Strong Java programming skills

Knowledge of software development processes & agile methodologies

Strong problem solving and debugging skills

Good understanding of DB Design

Candidate Education:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering from premier institutes preferred
