Position: Software Tester/Wireless Applications Engineer Location: Annapolis, MD Duration: 6 months- (possible Temp to Hire) Rate:40/hr Prefer GC holders or citizens H1B's are ok but need excellent communication skills. FTF is a must after a ph interview. Please treat this as Temp to Hire after 6 months contract. DESCRIPTION SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of the following is necessary: Software testing and troubleshooting, basic computer hardware troubleshooting/installation, TCP/IP networking including router, hubs, firewalls and VPN. Familiarity with TCP/IP, SS7, SMTP, SNMP, SMPP and other protocols, as well as prior work in telecommunications industry is a plus. Familiar with webpage, HTTP, XML, Java and Oracle application testing. " 3- 5 years experience with Unix/Unix Networking is required. " 1-5 years experience Software Testing in a Unix environment is required. " 2-5 years Unix Scripting and SQL scripting experience. " 2-5 years Relational database experience (Oracle). " 1-3 years Network Management tools/utilities, SNMP, Solaris 8 experience is very helpful. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: BSEE or BS Computer Science Degree required. WAE group responsibilities include installing and integrating TCS applications into customer's networks and executing acceptance testing with the customer and customer training. Test group position responsibilities include creation of test cases, TCS application software testing and testing/modifications of upgrade procedures. PRIMARY DUTIES: Also may provide support for other TCS groups including Customer Technical Support Organization and Project Management staff. This position requires excellent engineering problem solving skills, a keen sense of troubleshooting and good communication skills. Customer expectations management skills necessary to instill confidence in TCS' products and services.
