DB2 Performance Engineer proactively monitors application
performanceProvides DB2 application performance tuning, SQL tuning, access
path analysis etc. and provide guidelines to users to write better SQLs
incorporating industry wide best practices.

Provides L3 support for the DB2 Operations team.

Good exposure to Oracle database.

Proficiency in application related performance and tuning, access path
analysis including extensive SQL coding tuning

• Proficiency in the use of DB2 monitoring tools (DB2PM, Insight, Omegamon,
Detector, RMF etc)

• Logical and physical database design skills

• Knowledge and understanding of an SDLC development lifecycle

• Working knowledge of application development/debugging tools (Data
Studio, Visual Explain, etc.)

• Working knowledge of MS Office suite for management reporting purposes

The description is below, please note that our candidates were cut because
the other stronger candidate have more experience with the AS/400 iSeries
operating system. - So this is very important

CLIENT is currently seeking candidates for a DB2 DBA position with a client
located in Madison, WI. This is an open ended contract opportunity scheduled
to begin the last week of August.



Qualified candidates will have the following requirements:


- Expert with DDS defined files, including multi-format and join logicals


- Expert in AS/400 (i Series, System i, Power i) DML and DDL


- Expert with views, stored procedures, functions and triggers


- Proficient with native triggers and RPG stored procedures and functions


- Proficient in physical database design and understands logical data model
design


- Able to work with minimal supervision and direction

- Experience with Computer Associates (CA) ERwin data modeler, MKS
Implementer version control application and database performance monitoring
and tuning on AS/400 systems



- Experience working in a group insurance payer environment
