The location in 6.1 was a good approach as the address remained the
object so assign to all other modules. This was not the case in 6.0
where many modules had to be adapted to cope with jobs instead of
address (and the address was used as location).

has someone already written something to migrate data from base_contact in order
to uninstall it?
The goal would be to retrieve data from res.partner.contact and
res.partner.location back to res.partner.address to get rid of this module.
