: [OpenIndiana-discuss] Openindiana in VMWare and usb devices
Hi ,
From the man page for the usbsacm driver:
ENXIOThe unit being opened does not exist.
You could try a cleanup of /dev.
Remove the modem.
# devfsadm -C
Attach the modem
# init 6
#devfsadm -v

No way.USB CDC modem/fax under VMWare Esxi 4.1 does not work
Everything looks fine under the OS (devices, dev/cua, messages from the USB
management),
but then tip does not attach as if the dev file is missing, or maybe just not
responding
Anyone does have
] Openindiana in VMWare and usb devices
Maybe the output of:
truss -t stat,open tip /dev/cua/0
will give us something to work with.

Thanks, but this doesn't happen on native machine, just only inside VMWare.
Actually, yes, tip is suid uucp, but the device is rw to anyone by default:
crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys 99, 131072 Jun 21 23:25 modem@0,2:0,cu

Wow...this is a very deep analysis ;)
Well, on the physical machine (where it works great), the device is very
similar:
crw-rw-rw- 1 root sys
