If I recall properly:
I was using (long time ago) drivers from
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/unix/solaris-display-archive/ but
then I just gave up once OI got regular updates.
With that one GL modes were working (but again, I was not keen to check
everything and also I am *not* sure
