Still having problems with Openoffice, I can not save in any openoffice
format but I can save in Microsoft .doc format. I am also unable to
export in PDF.

published on Apache web). So it is doable, it only needs somebody to do

I've had the recent puzzling issue while trying to config libreoffice
bootstrap 3.4.4.2 for compilation:
$ CC=cc PYTHON_CFLAGS=-I/usr/include/python2.6 ./configure
--with-jdk-home=/usr/jdk/latest
--with-junit=/usr/share/lib/java/junit.jar --disable-mozilla
--disable-odk --enable-binfilter
Sun C 5.10 is Studio 12u1. It seems to explicitly want something prior to that.
I don't have answers to any other part, but installing 12u1 shouldn't
help you at all, based on the above.
