If you add the pieces of information together (announced and then shortly cancelled J1 talks), you perfectly get the right picture.
The *problem* certainly is not the technical part. While I disagree that the RPi is just nerd stuff (the "embedded" market is huge), I agree however that any further delay with JavaFX on Android & iOS is really bad. I believe this situation is just as frustrating for the Oracle *developers* like it is for the rest of the JavaFX community.
