2010, and have some issues with 2012. However, we will need to resolve
them at some point.

Actually, I misread that. You are trying to build with Visual Studio 2013.
2010 == Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0
2012 == Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0
2013 == Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0
