It used to run background, however this stops you from opening new
LibreOffice windows. I think you were the one who complained, causing us
to fix it to what it does now...

I don't think background or not is really this issue the issue is it is
not shutting down when OpenLP shuts down. In version 1.x PowerPoint
shutdown with OpenLP. Someone doesn't need their ability to say create a
document crippled really either I wouldn't think just because OpenLP is
running.

If memory serves, it does try to shutdown, but it has a few checks in
there to make sure it wasn't already open beforehand, or you didn't open
additional documents that OpenLP doesn't know about.
I think it errs on the side of caution, since the last thing we want is
for LibreOffice to shutdown
