I don't have a preference, or a reason that '+' can't be used in a version
numbered file/directory name.

That being said: doesn't '0.10.1-dev' define the version we are on?

In either case, updating helper.sh to support '+' will keep me from
thinking that I broke something :-)

My idea was to use "+" only for this release temporarily (to
distinguish from pre-10 dev versions) and then switch back to the "-".

Does anyone think that the plus should stay?
