[tickets] [opensaf:tickets] #1438 log: log file size is bigger than one defined by saLogStreamMaxLogFileSize

** [tickets:#1438] log: log file size is bigger than one defined by
saLogStreamMaxLogFileSize**

**Status:** accepted
**Milestone:** 4.6.2
**Created:** Mon Aug 10, 2015 06:59 AM UTC by Vu Minh Nguyen
**Last Updated:** Mon Dec 14, 2015 09:21 AM UTC
**Owner:** Canh Truong

The log file size is bigger than MAX_FILE_SIZE defined by
saLogStreamMaxLogFileSize attribute value.

> me@:~/opensaf/opensaf-staging/tools/cluster_sim_uml/repl-opensaf/saflog$ ll
> -rw-r--r-- 1 osboxes osboxes 144 Jul 23 09:36 saLogSystem.cfg

> MAX_FILE_SIZE: **1025**
> FIXED_LOG_REC_SIZE: 1024
> LOG_FULL_ACTION: ROTATE 4

The expectation is that log server should close the current log file and create
new one
if the log file size is going to be greater than the maximum value after
writing the log record to the file.

This defect is reproducible.

When updating attributes (e.g: logFileFmt, pathname, filename, etc.), log
server closes the openining cfg/log files and creates new ones.

The problem is that logsv keeps the log file size of previous one instead of
reseting to zero (0) for the newly created log file.

When something wrong with opening cfg/log file (e.g: files on disk are
deleted/moved), if there is any action that leads to create new cfg/log files,
logsv will get failed to do that action as logsv sees it failed to rename the
files (appending closed time to file names), then it ignores creating new ones.

Millisecond token (@Ck, @Nk) does not reflect correctly. It takes 03 digits of
microsecond, not millisecond as the expectation.

Ticket [#191] will add generic support in OpenSAF for DNs longer than 255
bytes. Each individual OpenSAF service will also have to be adapted to support
long DNs. LOG should have this feature since LOG is used by NTF and DN is part
of a log record. Also applications may want to use long DNs in log records.
