Is this a login to AD, or just to the XP machine locally?

registered

The HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Defaults\Provider\Microsoft Base Smart
Card Crypto Provider
has a TransactionTimeoutMilliseconds = 0x5DC or 1.5 seconds
