I found this guide to do different step by step to rename in Terminal, just
follow it line by line, and you wont regret you bought a GoPro... :-)

Just do one line at a time in terminal when you are in the current
directory for your files.

n=1
for i in *.jpg; do
p=$(printf "%04d.jpg" ${n})
mv ${i} ${p}
let n=n+1

 My GOPRO camera named the image sequence from G0010172.JPG up to
G0010570.JPG "Invalid" Openshot said . I couldne figure out a way for
batch renaming these files. So i doing this by hand now :-(. I hope I
find a way to handle the way the Gopro is naming its images, otherwise
it could be my last image sequence project. (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. OpenShot

Bad Idea making this low. I just installed Ubuntu Studio 14.04 x64

a couple of hours to determine what the problem was. Don't add new
functionality until you're sure your existing functionality actually
works!

Sorry Otavio for the delay but I'm a bit buzy with OpenShot QT.

I've take a look at your images and all seems to be okay for me.

Try to desactive/active the option use smooth scaling int the first tab of
Preferences. Its could help you but all is not sure.

Could you give more explanations about your image sequence ?

Hum I would like to be sure that you don't have any residue of old version of
MLT. Normally, if all has been removed correctly that should work fine.
As I'm on my development system (and as I've not the official version with MLT
installed=< I've got another :-) ) I can't test several commands.  and I don't
remember them flawlessly. Neverless we will proceed differently.

Using synaptic could you make a search called libmlt/mlt and take a
screenshot with a solftware like shutter or hotshot. After, you put it
on a website like Imagur and copy paste the link here. I don't think
that you can put the screenshot here directly.

This MLT bug installation are very annoying. Soon, with Libopenshot, we
won't  have it.

- melt, libmlt++3, libmlt-data, libmlt5 and python-mlt5 are all in version

You must remove this old part of MLT. For that, i suggest to remove with
synaptic and the option purge completely MLT. Obviously, Openshot will be
removed. Once time you have done that, check always with synaptic if you
have any residue of MLT and after if all is okay, install openshot.
Normally, all should be come back perfect.

Actually, libmlt++3 and melt were kept in the current versions

[Openshot.bugs] [Bug 596811] Re: bug importing image sequence

2014-01-22 Thread Otavio Carneiro
This bug seems to have been fixed in previous versions but came back in
1.4.0 (see bug #424988).

The workaround I'm using is the following shell command:
for a in DSC*.JPG; do b=${a:4:4};mv $a $((b-4321)).jpg; done

It makes "DSC04322.JPG" into "1.jpg" by extracting the number part and
subtracting 4321 from it. It's a bit of a hack, but works for me. If you
want to try it out, please back up your files and be sure to know what
you're doing before you run it.
